#IpseDixit

"A cage went in search of a bird"

The contradictions between what we're told we should feel and what we actually do feel generates a huge amount of unnecessary suffering.

And we'll see that it's not only gay people that have to come out of the closet. We all have closets we have to come out of. Right?
And when we do come out of those closets, we'll recognize that our fight is not with each other, our fight is with an outdated vision that conflates shame and confusion with understanding and empathy. It's time we moved beyond that.
I think a lot of people are fractured by unrealistic expectations that are based upon this false vision of human behaviour. That's what I'm trying to get at.

verás.. this is the youngest we'll ever be

Mi dinero no valía allí.
He decidido que, si no puedo tener mis cacahuetes, paso de sustitutos baratos. Bueno, espera, acuérdate del gofre. Aún no sé recordar sin cariño aquel gofre nocturno.

Nor are errors

Our steady state seems to be one of unconsciously assuming that we are very close to omniscient. The experience of being right is imperative for our survival, gratifying for our ego, and, overall, one of life’s cheapest and keenest satisfactions.

Far from being a moral flaw, errors are some of our most humane and honourable qualities: empathy, optimism, imagination... However, as a culture, we haven’t mastered the basic skill of saying “I was wrong". What a  startling deficiency, given the simplicity of the phrase!

By contrast, we positively excel at acknowledging other people’s errors. Our default attitude toward wrongness tends to be rough on relationships.. see that you can either be right or be in a relationship.

Muchos parques

The gap between success and mastery.

"He stands for something but he doesn't really dominate what he stands for."

Was this legitimate? Is it that he wanted revolution without revolution?
You know that ape will not get the banana: he was knocking on the open door.

Take a walk

And yet, there you have'em, thinking about their fucking hairdos.

Why is it that I have zero faith in them? Where's the generation I belong to? Where are they?

Quantum physics

The balance of the void is disturbed. It means something went terribly wrong. What we call creation is a kind of cosmic imbalance, cosmic catastrophe. Things appeared by mistake and I am ready to go to the end and to claim that the only way to counter it is to assume the mistake and we have a name for that: love.

Isn't love precisely this kind of a cosmic imbalance? I was always disgusted with this notion of universal love. The whole of reality is just stupid. Love for me is an extremely violent act. Love is not "I love you all". Love means "I pick out something". Even if this balance is a very small detail, a fragile individual person... I say "I love you more than anything else". In this formal sense, love is evil.

the militarization of the everyday, the absurd

"There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop."

Hope is a word that is applicable only to those who grasp reality, which does not include the involvement in mainstream political parties. Hope is about fighting against the real forces of destruction not chanting the marketer's "Yes, we can". Hope, in the hands of realists, spreads fear into the black heart of the elite. But hope, real hope, remains thwarted by our collective self-delusion.

We should reinvent utopia in many ways, ways that we aren't even allowed to thinking.

understanding Hagedorn

//

I love to watch science fiction, but I cringe whenever I see a depiction of the aliens. First of all, the aliens speak perfect English. Not just British English. They speak perfect American English. And obviously they're a human inside some kind of monkey suit. I mean we have Hollywood special effects, right. So why can't we get better aliens? Their consciousness is totally different from our consciousness because they see things differently than us because of their evolutionary history.

For example when we see a cat and the cat comes up to us and tries to purr next to us, we say to ourselves: "Oh, nice cat. Cat is being affectionate". No. The cat is not being affectionate. It's simply rubbing his hormones on you and saying: "I own this human. This human is mine. I'm marking my territory. This human feeds me twice a day. I've trained him". They will see outcomes that we cannot foresee. They will simulate scenarios that we cannot even dream of. They can outwit us every time. So a cat sees the universe totally different than we do and yet, we impose our thinking on an alien.

Think of a cop. A cop may have a low IQ, may have dropped out of elementary school. But the cop can simulate the future much better than a safe-cracker can and that's why he can stop robberies and get away with them. And so in other words, the criminal mind is not necessarily stupid because it has low IQ. It's quite well adapted for what it does.

someone said once

"Our genitals are Juliet
Our hands are Romeo;

We'd all be doing time
(yes we'd all be doing time)
If it was a crime"

or, at least, that's what she said
